When she was tested positive she believed that she can live only if she was given an opportunity to do, she enrolled herself in the CTC and started taking ARV. She was let down by the authority and yet she was fighting for her life with all her energy and means, she never missed lesson in class and she had always stand forward in helping others. She had been in my house many time and she could feel not tired to do whatever house work available all the time, she helped carrying and taking care of young children from the orphanage. She was STRONG she never said I am sick I can not do this, she always says I will try, and she tried.

She will remain a symbol of Hope, a symbol of determination. PLWHA, PIUMA and all of us we have the lesson to learn from the death of Veneranda, I am so touched by this death, it is painful to accept that the life of an innocent girl has been interrupted so unjustly.

This is becomes again another reason why we need to stand strong and united to fight and Injustices and corruption. Veneranda’s death tells us that in every minute that passes with injustices being entertained someone life is put in stake.

Could spirit of PAMOJA, the spirit that created PIUMA , the voice of the roaring Lion in the hills be embodied within our spirit.
